On Wednesday come and hear a presentation on THE GREEN NEW DEAL with short film clips with plenty of time to discuss together.
What is the Green New Deal?
The Green New Deal is a plan and a growing global movement. for huge investment in the economic future of the UK, to create a new generation of green jobs in the industries and infrastructure we need to tackle the climate crisis. The movement is demanding a new approach to running our economy that guarantees decent work, greater ownership and economic democracy, with a central purpose of putting people and planet first.
The plan came about after the economic crash of 2008 and with only a decade to now halve global carbon emissions, the need for this to become a reality is becoming more urgent.
As usual, find us in room G011 (ground floor) of the Gateway Building on the university campus on Polhill Avenue. We start promptly at 7.30.
Parking is free but we encourage greener forms of transport if possible, or car sharing at least 🙂
Disabled access, open to all and all our events are free but donations much appreciated as they allow us to cover our costs & continue out regular events. Hope to see you there!
