The climate crisis is fast approaching. We have 8 years of carbon budget left before a cascade of tipping points becomes extremely likely. How can the UK stop using fossil fuels? Where are the biggest challenges and how far will cost and efficiency trends in solar and wind take us?
BCCF is pleased to be hosting an ONLINE PRESENTATION & Q&A with economist and author Chris Goodall, one of the UK’s leading thinkers on these topics. In particular, Chris is a close observer of developments in ‘green hydrogen’ and he will be explaining the implications for our build-out of renewables and for our heating and transport sectors. What is the role of community energy?
Chris will also be presenting his thoughts on how we will tackle the really high-emission sectors of clothing, aviation, steel and cement. A change of land-use is essential but how will we feed 8 billion people? And most fundamental of all, are these questions just for government or does individual action matter?
There will be a chance to ask questions.
