As the Climate Coalition’s Great Big Green Week started this weeked and Bedfordshire is taking part, we’d like to remind you of the local events and activities that BCCF in particular has set up.
On Tuesday 21st at 6.30pm we have THE DAY THE WORLD STOPS SHOPPING, virtual live talk by Vancouver journalist J B Mackinnon. His latest book is a fascinating and engaging read about consumer society in the broadest sense, and challenging its inevitability! Register here for free to get the zoom link sent to you.
On Wednesday 22nd ay 7.30pm we look at the vital subject of Carbon Fee and Dividend especially in the run up to COP2 and climate campaigning, with MK campaigner and retired OU academic Rob Paton. Register here for this talk
On Thursday 23rd 10am-12 noon there’s a drop in Climate Coffee at the excellent Green Earth Cafe, 13 St Paul’s Square, Bedford. Bedford’s MP Mohammed Yasin has accepted an invitation so a good chance to talk to him, COP26 and share ideas with others. Please note that drinks are not free (They are an independent business trying to make a living 🙂 ) Ideally register in advance so that there’s space for people to socially distance.
On Saturday 25th 10am-5pm we have a BCCF stall at Green Earth Vegan Fair in Harpur Square, Bedford. Our stall will have a ‘eco’ book swap, so do bring spare books on climate, sustainable living, vegan cookbooks, wildlife, nature etc. Also a seed, plant, produce swap so bring spares OR make a small cash donation if you have nothing to bring to swap.
As usual, our events are free and open to all, but if you’re able to make a donation, however small, that helps us to continue to run events and activities. Sharing this too is really helpful.
The whole week’s calendar looks like this and we hope you’ll support BCCF’s events in particular by joining in and by sharing as a lot of work has gone into marking this week as COP26 in Glasgow approaches. Thank you, and we hope to see you this week!
