Back, in person! Join us to watch ‘Planet Local: A Quiet Revolution’ in Bedford, Tuesday 14th March 7-9pm.

We’re REALLY excited to be back at the University of BedFORDSHIRE PoLHILL CAMPUS For OUR NEXT FREE EVENT, hosted by the university’s sustainability Forum.

We’ve been running a variety of successful regular talks and film screenings online since the pandemic. (Many were recorded on our Youtube channel here.) But after recent demand from some of our ‘regulars’, we’d like to return to some in-person events to bring people together again. And the recent PLANET LOCAL film seems perfect for a community screening….

It’s a 50-minute documentary film offering inspiration and hope in dark times, featuring grassroots activists from every continent alongside internationally known figures like Noam Chomsky, Vandana Shiva, Russell Brand, Naomi Klein, Jane Goodall, Gabor Maté and Helena Norberg-Hodge.

Crucially, the film connects seemingly disparate issues of climate breakdown, economic hardship and poor mental health and shows how community and strengthening relationships of interdependence at the local level can offer deep, long-lasting solutions in place of rampant globalisation. You can watch the short trailer here

As always, we have time after the screening for discussion and sharing of ideas with a view to potential future projects.

So please join us in Bedford on Tuesday 14th March, Room G011 (ground floor) of the Gateway Building of the Polhill Avenue campus of the University of Bedfordshire. (It’s the building to the left of the large glass library as you’re looking from Polhill Avenue). There’s parking onsite but as always we encourage sustainable methods of transport, or lift share if public transport is not possible for you.

We really look forward to seeing you again! Please share with friends, family colleagues. No need to book, just turn up.

Our events are welcoming to all and are free… but as BCCF does have costs (and rely on donations to cover them) we’re very grateful for any donations via our website.
